The Shon Pants sit high on the waist and run wide and straight to the floor, so there is enough cloth for the light to travel across it as you walk. The pile is dense and smooth one way and catches against the hand the other, with just enough give in it that a leg cut this wide still moves with you rather than swinging on its own. That is the whole reason to make a trouser in velvet, and the reason these are cut wide rather than slim. Espresso reads warmer and less severe than black under evening light, and it is what stops the set looking like a tuxedo. Wear them with the Shon Velvet Jacket as a suit.
